Saskia Byrne was born in her family's ancestral home of Glasbháin Grange in The Imperial City of Gor’Raj’Ka, and went to school in The Grand City of Mor'Koc. While she mainly studied business and music, she soon found her real passions were the unusual mix of police cold cases and clothing design. However it was during her music classes that she met Faulkner Chulainn. The two began a relationship, but Faulkner abruptly broke it off after she discovered she was pregnant with their child. She decided to keep it, and soon gave birth to her beloved daughter Willow

While she found plenty of methods to support her daughter financially as an investor, her love of investigation longside two friends, Astra Yaevis and Set Amenhasensahib, she formed the Byrne Detective Agency, which operated for several years before a disastrous investigation of the Troll Bridge Association's Mor'Koc Branch led to Set being killed and her being forced to forgo her personal principles in order to protect her family. Unable to continue seeking the truth after being blackmailed and bribed into keeping Rosechild's secret, she disbanded the Agency permanently. Famously, during this investigation Saskia located a shipment of Spore and platinum ingots which lead to her receiving one bar as a reward and her name becoming more famous due to the ensuing news report.

Following this, she went down the other route she had taken an interest in in her youth and took up work as a fashion designer, which has made her more famous that anything she had done previously. She has also gone further into investing her money, particularly to help exploration. This has also led her to strike up a friendship and business partnership with Salaq-shuli-sīkāyiki-negadē. As such both were involved in the events of Cursed Waters as the ones who funded the trip, and also funded Hathor Nepthys Ivarsdottir's archeological expedition to the Dwarven ruins of Veg Darul, of which Willow herself was a part.
