Mernelian Revolt

Belligerents

The Mernelian Revolt was an uprising by many Mernelians against Shahanshah Pelegon II. It was led by the Brotherhood of Mernel, a secret conspiracy of lords and noble commonfolk to reestablish the Mernelian Empire. While House Khainohk was officially neutral, it is likely that they provided covert support to the conspiracy. 

The revolt was mismanaged by Pelegon II and he was infamously forced to retreat from the field of battle at the Battle of the Gates of Strusan. Following this, Prince Beldoran Pelegon took it upon himself to suppress the revolt. The failure of Pelegon II led Beldoran to become seen as a better candidate for the Golden Falcon Throne by many lords, contributing to the outbreak of the Years of Blood and Iron a year later.
