Meng Yan

Description

A high-ranked member of Unknown, acting as a supervisor and tactician within his organization. He is married to Suan Sang-Jun.

Meng Yan carries a greasy charisma, charm and smiles making no effort to convince you he is doing anything except selling you something. For all his ambition, Meng Yan appears to be capable of sincerity with the correct people.

He once worked deeper in the field, where he earned the acid scar that mars his face and permanently crooks his smile.

History

Meng Yan previously worked in acquisitions in The Northern Wastes. He would delve into sites of interest to locate materials and artifacts of value. During this work, he encountered Pip Jewelhand and Miradan Ruinseeker. Their relationship was originally contentious, competing for access to the same sites with opposite values. However, with time their encounters grew to familiarity and fondness, until they struck up correspondence with the use of a pair of tablets they had found.

With the deaths of Pip and Miradan, Meng Yan lost contact without explanation. He eventually came around to transferring to domestic work to be closer to his wife, Suan Sang-Jun.

Within the Campaign

Meng Yan was Liutubang's contact given to them by Sang-Jun. He offered the task of investigating a mark and then doling out appropriate measures after the fact in exchange for the location of a Jumping Bull. As part of this task, Meng Yan assigned his subordinate, Lola, to the party.
