Jadla Kuni

Jedi Master

“There are risks and costs to action. But they are far less than the long range risks of comfortable inaction.”

Backstory

Jadla was born on Mirial only a few years before the Empire rose to power. Doubtless if she’d been born but a few years earlier, she would have been identified as Force sensitive and brought to the Jedi for training. As it was, the timing protected her from the Jedi Purge and when her parents noticed her nascent sensitivity, they took great pains to hide her and to stress the danger she would be in if anyone found out.

Jadla accepted those lessons… at first. Time and time again, she found herself chafing at the restrictions on her, eventually learning that she could channel her abilities into medicine and helping the people around her in that way while still trying to maintain her secrecy. With the fall of the Empire, Jadla discarded the veil of deception that had kept her alive, proudly embracing her Force sensitivity and searching out Luke for training, becoming one of the first Jedi in his new order.

Appearance
Early 40s, Female, Mirialan, still maintains a strong connection to her parents on Mirial, has a number of traditional Mirialan cultural tattoos and will add more for particularly impressive accomplishments.
Personality
Kind and sometimes even a tad matronly, not afraid to ask for things directly, believes Jedi are called to protect those without a more active connection to the Force, finds inaction or restrictions incredibly frustrating.
Skillset & Role
An expert in the healing arts, which also makes her a threat in close combat. Does not favor her lightsaber during combat, though she carries it with her as is appropriate of a Jedi. Head of the Mikkian temple, she feels a great responsibility for those under her care but also believes in their competence as Jedi. Jadla prefers taking direct action to solve situations. She doesn’t want to wait and examine the situation from all angles, she wants to get in and start helping people. She will still respond personally to major humanitarian disasters where her healing skills are most helpful.
