The Great Serpent

This character is dead.
Primordial Beast
Mythical Creature

The Great Serpent, one of the most feared and ancient beings in the world, is far more than a mere beast. Its true nature is that of a Revenant Titan, the Cosmic-Spawn of Unknown, the primeval entity of chaos and destruction. This terrifying creature was brought into existence by the unknowable forces of the cosmos, its very heart forged from an onyx-black stone now known as the Ebony Amulet. With its dark and malevolent power, the Great Serpent wreaked havoc upon the world, leaving behind a trail of devastation and despair wherever it slithered.

In the twilight of the Third Age, the Solir, the noble Sun Elves of the great civilization of Itela, sought to challenge the monstrous serpent. Scores of Solir Paladins, the most valiant warriors of their time, attempted to bring the creature down, but all fell before its onslaught. It seemed as though nothing could stop the serpent's relentless advance until Malekith, a powerful and cunning necromancer from the distant shores of Tolria, made a fateful pact with the beast.

In exchange for assistance in destroying the civilization of Itela, Malekith was promised a portion of the creature's power. However, true to his nature, Malekith betrayed the serpent at the crucial moment. Instead of honoring his end of the bargain, he used dark rift magic to sever the Ebony Amulet from the creature's heart, effectively draining the serpent of its life force. In one swift stroke, Malekith slew the Great Serpent, leaving it a lifeless husk.

But Malekith's treachery did not end there. Utilizing the serpent's immense power, now housed within the Ebony Amulet, he performed a vile ritual. He took the ribcages of the Great Serpent and, with the use of rift magic, fashioned them into the Primarchs of the Sun. These were mighty and terrible beings, each embodying a fraction of the serpent's former strength and malevolence. The Primarchs served Malekith, their very existence a testament to the archmage's dark ambition and cruelty.

Centuries passed, and the legend of the Great Serpent faded into myth. However, in the Fifth Age, the sinister Snake Cult, long devoted to the worship of the ancient creature, sought to bring it back to life. Through the elemental power of Rozan's Eye, they succeeded in resurrecting the Great Serpent, restoring it to its former glory.

Once again, the serpent sought vengeance, this time against the Holy Order of the Sun and the world that had forsaken it. Its wrath was unmatched, but destiny would not allow it to continue unchecked. The creature met its final end at the hands of The Sunsations, a band of legendary adventurers, in a climactic battle. It was Guy the Grateful who struck the final blow, felling the beast once and for all. In an act of grim resolve, Guy bathed in the serpent's primordial blood, claiming a portion of its ancient power for himself.
