The Prince

The Dashing Deceiver
Archfey

Once a noble and striking Sylvarin, The Prince was known for his charm, beauty, and silver tongue. However, his fall from grace came when he succumbed to the seductive allure of Morrígna, the Black Rose, Queen of the Court of Wither. His descent was swift and tragic, as Morrígna cursed him to embody his most damning traits: narcissism, manipulation, and insatiable ambition. Now a member of the Court of Wither, The Prince uses his wit and charm to ensnare others into unwilling servitude, mirroring his own downfall.

Appearance

The Prince’s appearance is as enchanting as it is unnerving, a reflection of his corrupted essence:

  • A slender, muscular humanoid, standing six feet tall, but marked by plant-like features that betray his nature.
  • Woody antlers crown his head, and thorn-like spikes protrude from his shoulders, symbolizing his deceitful beauty.
  • Green lichen wraps around his forearms like bracers, and a mane of vibrant leaves replaces his hair, their color darkening with his mood.
  • His glowing green eyes are windows to his cunning and malevolence, always watching for an opportunity to exploit.

Despite his outward beauty, there is an unsettling air about him, a sense that his perfection is a mask hiding something far more sinister.

Fall to the Court of Wither

The Prince’s downfall began with his own vanity and hunger for adoration. Morrígna exploited these flaws, weaving whispers of immortality, endless devotion, and power into his mind. She lured him into her fold, promising him the freedom to pursue his desires without restraint.

When he accepted her offer, Morrígna cursed him, binding him to her service and transforming him into a shadow of his former self. Stripped of his nobility, The Prince became a tool of the Court of Wither, his charisma and allure twisted into weapons of ensnarement. Now, he preys upon the vulnerable and ambitious, drawing them into Morrígna’s web of corruption.

Role in the Conjunction of the Realms

Before the Conjunction of the Realms, The Prince acted as Morrígna’s emissary to Primarch Prometheus, forging a dangerous alliance. He taught the Primarch the secrets of forsaken Fae magic, forbidden rituals that allowed Prometheus to destabilize the barriers between the Faewyld and the Prime Plane. This knowledge helped Prometheus initiate the collision of the two realms, plunging both worlds into chaos.

The Prince’s cunning and ability to manipulate others made him instrumental in the Conjunction’s success, though his true allegiance remained with Morrígna, not the mortal Primarch.

The Glade of Deception

When the Conjunction of the Realms forced The Prince into the Prime Plane, he adapted quickly, creating a new domain for himself. He claimed an enchanting glade filled with seductive dryads, whose beauty and allure rivaled his own. The glade is a trap, designed to lure unwitting Fae and mortals alike into servitude.

  • At the heart of the glade, The Prince plays a harp crafted from blackthorn wood, its melody hypnotic and irresistible. The music weaves through the trees, drawing all who hear it deeper into the glade until they are ensnared by his dryads.
  • The dryads of the glade are bound to The Prince’s will, their own natures corrupted by his influence. They act as bait, using their beauty and charm to disarm and trap intruders.

Betrayal of the Sunsations

While in the Prime Plane, The Prince crossed paths with the adventuring group known as The Sunsations, offering them a bargain cloaked in deception. Claiming to assist them in their quest, he manipulated the terms of their agreement to benefit himself alone, leaving the Sunsations to bear the consequences of his machinations.

His betrayal is remembered as one of the Sunsations' gravest missteps, a reminder of The Prince’s ability to twist even the most noble intentions into tools for his gain.

Legacy of the Fallen Sylvarin

The Prince stands as a cautionary tale within the Faewyld and the Prime Plane—a warning of the dangers of unchecked vanity, ambition, and the allure of power. His harp’s melody echoes through his glade, a siren song for those who seek beauty or solace, only to find themselves trapped in his web.

Though cursed and corrupted, The Prince’s charm and cunning remain unmatched, making him one of the most dangerous agents of the Court of Wither. His downfall serves as a chilling reminder of Morrígna’s power and the cost of crossing paths with the Black Rose.
