Miavryar, the ancient progenitor of the Mist Drake, had long harbored an unrelenting hatred for the Vanir of Aerenal, blaming them for his banishment and seeking vengeance upon their people. His wrath nearly culminated in a full-scale attack on Aerenal—until he was met with words instead of steel.
Guy the Grateful and Isilynor Faeren, a Vanir marine, talked down Miavryar as he ambushed their longship returning from treaty negotiations on The Immortal Isle. In a fateful exchange, Isilynor revealed the truth of The Riftfire Rebellion—a revelation that shattered Miavryar’s long-held assumptions. The Vanir of Aerenal had never taken part in the uprising against their draconic creators. Their hands were clean of the betrayal that had cast Miavryar and his kin into exile.
With his very purpose suddenly shaken, Miavryar relented, choosing to travel with Avatar Guy to The Elden Council rather than spill innocent blood. There, he vowed to assist Guy’s journey to Tolria, using his strength to help him reach the floating city of Thouran and the Magocracy that ruled it.
During his time in Aerenal, Miavryar was reunited with Goldbrand—Zirael the Ancient, the Archon of Air. Once, the two dragons had stood as kin before Miavryar’s dissapearence. Their long-lost connection, severed by pride and wrath, was rekindled. Zirael spoke not as an adversary, but as a brother, urging Miavryar to seek atonement rather than destruction.
Moved by these events, Miavryar stood before the Elden Council and made a solemn vow:
To turn from the path of vengeance, to right the wrongs he had wrought, and to seek redemption for the rage that had consumed him.
