If you see Yonkers, you're in for some trouble. He's the bodyguard of Mandrill, head of the Seven Sins. Yonkers is also the man Mandrill sends when everyone else has failed. "Go fix it Yonkers" is a common refrain from the Tabaxi Lord of Thieves. Such a thing happened recently when Yonkers went after an unsanctioned, black marketeer, Maartina Janssen.

Yonkers is five time champion of The Stone Court, meaning he has been convicted of murder five times, gone through the gladiatorial gauntlet of the Stone Court, and survived. Yonkers has the closest thing in Seregon to a license to murder. Yet, all of his convictions have been on guild business, and all, according to Yonkers, were regrettable.

Yonkers wields the legendary short swords Eerlijk (Fair) and Zojuist (Just).

Yonkers is a massive, intimidating figure with a rugged appearance shaped by years of survival in the Old Knot District. His broad shoulders and towering height make him an imposing presence, and his weathered skin is marked with the scars of countless brawls. His thick, muscular frame is often clad in simple, practical clothing that allows him to move swiftly and strike hard.

His eyes, a cold and calculating gray, rarely show emotion, revealing a man who has learned to keep his feelings buried deep. Yonkers’ face is rough, with a square jawline, a broken nose that never quite healed right, and a perpetual five o'clock shadow. His hair is dark and cropped short, often hidden beneath a hood or cap, adding to his air of menace.

Despite his brutal exterior, Yonkers harbors a quiet longing for something more—a normal life that he believes is out of reach. The streets of Old Knot have hardened him, making him believe that he doesn't deserve peace or happiness. This internal conflict drives him to continue his violent work, even as he dreams of an escape he doesn't think is possible.

In his relationship with Elina van Leeuwen, he plays the role of a willing accomplice, aware that she’s using him for information but accepting it as part of the game. He offers her just enough to keep her satisfied, careful not to reveal anything that could jeopardize his position. Yonkers sees their relationship as a twisted reflection of his life—full of deception and manipulation, with no clear path to anything better. Except maybe for his growing feelings for Annelies Zandstra, the harbourmaster. If she wasn't so broken, maybe there could be something. Or maybe he's the broken one.

When drawn together, the swords blaze with fire; if drawn by a worthy man. Otherwise they do not flame. They have not flamed in Yonkers hands, a fact that haunts him every time he draws them.

Actions

  • Multiattack. The slave pit master makes three unarmed strikes (assuming he doesn't want to kill with his +3 short swords)
  • Unarmed StrikeMelee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, the slave pit master can choose one of the following additional effects:
    • The target must succeed on a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone.
