**SENTINELS OF SEREGON HALT SUMMONING OF THE MAW IN HEROIC TEMPLE RAID**

**SEREGON, LULA REGION** – The Sentinels of Seregon, known by locals as The Yard Rats, have once again stepped up to defend the city-state in a battle that will be remembered for generations. Their latest victory took place at the desecrated Temple of Asura, where they thwarted a ritual to summon the dreaded Maw of Hadregash, a creature of unfathomable terror.

The encounter unfolded over a harrowing night as the Sentinels fought their way through fiendish gnoll patrols, deadly traps, and overwhelming odds to save Seregon from certain doom.

### THE FIRST CLASH

The Sentinels’ approach to the Tomb of Ascendant Flame was met by a band of gnoll guards, their grotesque forms further corrupted by fiendish energies. Though outnumbered, the party worked in perfect unison, combining *Mariska Vandeleur (Chris)'s bardic magic and Jorina Hendriks precise arrow strikes to overwhelm the patrol. * utkacha (Chad), the rogue, silently took out stragglers while *Balik Walraven (Jonathan), the cleric, shielded the party from harm with divine energy.

“Their movements were calculated, almost mechanical,” said Jorin. “It was clear they were sentries for something far worse inside.”

### Thraask Bloodtide's Last Stand

Inside the temple’s ruined courtyard, the Sentinels encountered Thraask Bloodtide, the infamous gnoll warlord, commanding a group of six gnolls. Bloodtide’s guttural roar echoed through the ancient halls as he charged, swinging his massive jagged axe with deadly precision.

The battle was brutal. *Tailyn Blithe (Jay), the mage, unleashed waves of fire and ice to break the enemy’s ranks, while Ubel held the line, enduring blow after blow from Bloodtide’s ferocious strikes. Mariska’s inspiring melodies drove her comrades to fight through exhaustion as the gnolls pressed their assault.

Ultimately, Utkacha’s quick thinking turned the tide. Utilizing a crumbling pillar as cover, he slipped behind Bloodtide and delivered a decisive blow to the warlord’s spine, toppling him mid-battle. Without their leader, the remaining gnolls fell to the relentless counterattacks of the Sentinels.

### INTO THE TEMPLE’S HEART

Pushing forward, the party entered the inner sanctum of the tomb, where ten gnoll cultists were deep in the throes of their summoning ritual. The air was thick with the stench of sulfur and blood, and at the center of the chamber, the Maw of Hadregash was beginning to form, its shadowy tendrils writhing hungrily.

Exhausted but undeterred, the Sentinels improvised a daring plan. Using empty wine bottles scavenged from their supplies and stolen gunpowder from the gnolls, they crafted crude but effective explosives. With a mix of stealth and desperation, they launched a surprise attack, shattering the summoners’ ranks in a fiery explosion. The ritual collapsed, but the Maw remained partially formed, lashing out with its monstrous tendrils.

### THE FINAL MOMENT

In the climactic battle, the Maw’s glowing eyes bore into the Sentinels, testing their resolve. They fought valiantly, using every ounce of strength and strategy to hold their ground. When it seemed the creature’s power might overwhelm them, Mariska hurled one of their makeshift explosives—a wine bottle filled with gunpowder—directly into the creature’s gaping maw.

The resulting explosion engulfed the chamber in a wave of dark, bloody corruption, threatening to consume the party. But as the dust settled, the long-dormant aura of Asura awakened within the temple. A radiant light washed over the heroes, purging the corruption from their bodies and restoring their spirits.

### A TRIUMPH FOR SEREGON

Though battered and bloodied, the Sentinels emerged victorious, preventing the Maw’s full manifestation and dealing a decisive blow to The Red Flux growing influence. The Tomb of Ascendant Flame, though desecrated, showed signs of its former sanctity returning.

“It wasn’t just a fight for survival,” said Balik. “It was a battle for hope. And Asura’s blessing reminded us that even in the darkest of moments, the light can prevail.”

The people of Seregon owe yet another debt to the Sentinels, who continue to protect the city-state from threats both mortal and otherworldly. Their names will be sung in taverns and written in the annals of history, their bravery a beacon against the encroaching darkness.
