Months after Vasili's visit, The Pack visited the shop in Curse Of Strahd while searching for the bones of Saint Andral. They eventually found and encountered the spawn, who broke out and caused riot across the town, forcing Henrik to flee. His shop then stood empty until the Riots Of The Blazing Sun, where it burned to the ground alongside much of southern Vallaki.
An uninviting two-story shop in Vallaki, this building had a sign shaped like a coffin above the front door. Every window had a latticework of iron fitted with squares of frosted glass, and the doors were locked from the inside; the shop seemed permanently closed to locals. It was owned by Henrik van der Voort, a recluse carpenter who made coffins for Saint Andral's Church.
The Coffin Maker's Shop was a site for Vasili von Holtz to strike terror in Vallaki. He blackmailed Henrik into stealing the bones of Saint Lugdana Andral, and forced him to allow Vampire Spawn to reside in the shop's upper floor, resting in dirt-filled coffins. Vasili then set up an alarm and ward on the shop, allowing transportation to it from Castle Ravenloft, and set up a scheme where his spawn would steal the bones of Saint Lugdana Andral, causing the de-Consecrate of the church grounds.
