1. Creatures

Rat

Rats could be found throughout the Material Realm and Umbral Realms, an ubiquitous and resourceful creature that scurried through the shadows and crevices of dungeons, cities, and most other biomes. Their fur varied in color from dirty gray and brown to lighter shades, providing camouflage against urban landscapes or natural habitats.

Rats were known for their adaptability, scavenging skills, and ability to thrive in diverse and often harsh environments. Similar to Mice but larger and nastier, they had small, fur-covered bodies, and long bare tails that helped them maintain balance and agility. They communicated through high-pitched squeaks, clicks, and pheromones, signaling danger, food sources, or social interactions within their community.

Rats lived in large colonies or nests hidden in sewers, abandoned buildings, or beneath city streets, where they foraged for food scraps, insects, or even small creatures to sustain their populations. Occasionally, when prompted by magical or supernatural forces, they would bundle into Swarms of Rats, which could decimate crops and posed a significant threat to individual Smallfolk.
