Dire Rat

Dire rats, sometimes called "giant rats", were larger, more aggressive version of its common Rat counterparts found throughout the Material Realm and Umbral Realms. Growing to the size of a large Dog, these creatures were known for their cunning, adaptability, and insatiable hunger, often found in dark and dank places such as sewers, dungeons, or forgotten catacombs.

Dire rats resembled oversized rats with thick fur, sharp teeth, and a voracious appetite for anything edible, including carrion and unsuspecting adventurers. They typically hunted in packs, using their keen sense of smell and nimble movements to ambush prey or scavenge for food. Despite their size, dire rats were surprisingly agile and could navigate through tight spaces with ease.

Encounters with dire rats were hazardous due to their tendency to carry diseases or overwhelm opponents with sheer numbers. Some dire rats exhibited mutations or heightened abilities, such as poison-infused bites or resistance to magical effects, making them formidable adversaries for inexperienced Adventurerexploring dangerous locales.
