Bat

Bats were small, agile Beasts known for their echolocation abilities, nocturnal habits, and membranous wings. The only mammals capable of true flight, their wings, stretched thin over elongated finger bones, allowed them to maneuver swiftly and silently through the air. Bats varied greatly in size, colour, and dietary habits, but all were adept fliers. Their beady eyes and keen ears were adapted to navigating and hunting in complete darkness.

Bats typically roosted in large colonies within caves, abandoned buildings, or hollow trees. During the day, they hung upside down in their roosts, hidden from predators and the light of the sun. At dusk, they emerged in swarms to hunt insects, fruits, or, in the case of larger or more monstrous varieties, small animals.

Mortalkind legends and tales often depicted bats as symbols of mystery and fear. They were associated with the Undead, particularly as minions or forms of Vampires and other supernatural creatures, who would summon deadly Swarms of Bats.
