When you take the Attack action, you can replace one of your attacks with throwing a tanglefoot bag. Target one creature you can see within 20 feet of yourself. The target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw (DC 8 plus your Dexterity modifier and Proficiency Bonus) or become restrained by adhesive goo. On a successful save, the target is instead grappled (escape DC equal to the save DC), and its speed is halved. Huge or larger creatures automatically succeed on the saving throw. If the target is flying and fails the saving throw, its flying speed becomes 0 and it falls unless it can hover.
While restrained or grappled by the goo, the target’s speed cannot exceed half its normal speed. If the target failed the saving throw by 5 or more, its speed becomes 0. A restrained or grappled creature can use its action to make a Strength (Athletics) check against the save DC, ending the effect on a success. Alternatively, the goo can be destroyed by dealing 15 slashing damage to it (AC 10).
The goo becomes brittle after 2d4 rounds, ending the effect automatically. A tanglefoot bag has no effect underwater.
