- They return to their rooms and Dax' Athla checks if the rubies they received from Mordan Sel Sarin are magical, which they are not. She is aware that gems are often used as magical focii however, and nobody does magical surveillance quite like the Zil. Sus.
- The rubies are worth 250 gp though! A valuable gift.
- They quarantine the rubies in a bag of holding, so they can't be used to spy on the group.
- They debrief and discuss the next day, and what they plan to do.
- They are concerned about just waiting for something to happen. They also want to check on Nyrielle.
- They check on Nyrielle, who claims to have spent most of the evening on the privy. Warden and Kalshana both check on her, and think she's hiding something. They add her to the Mind Link to discuss it more privately.
- Thorn reveals she got in a fight with an Ogre to defend Ghyrryn. The elven man from the woods was there. Thorn is going to investigate Sheshka, the Queen of Stone tomorrow night. She thinks it's also worth investigating the werewolves.
- Thorn also revealed she had her own cryptic note from Sora Teraza: "Nothing lost remains lost forever, not even a bone in an ossuary."
- Steel speaks to Thorn, and they all hear him. Oops. He reveals that the Great Pack are supposed to be the most loyal of the followers of the Daughters of Sora Kell.
- They go to bed. Terfel Glas stays up a bit later.
- Lozaal Daashor attempts to contact Senen Dhakaan. Sora Teraza makes an appearance in the Uul Dhakaan, which heavily unnerves Senen. Lozaal expresses concern that the Daughters of Sora Kell are revealing him, but Senen is confident the others lack context. She reasserts he should look for information on the Kech Nasaar, and authorises him to share knowledge with Gorodan Ashlord in exchange for knowledge in return, but to present it as knowledge from Darguun.
- Kal uses her bottled dream, and dreams that Tzaryan Rrac was her SO, and that he cheated on her with Dah'mir. Awks.
- They set a watch, not trusting that they are safe here.
26th Vult, 999 YK
- They go to breakfast, and listen to Gorodan Ashlord loudly debating the merits and flaws in the Code of Galifar with Beren ir'Wynarn, whilst Tharsul ir'Taggert debated the merits of the Code of Kaius.
- Nyrielle slips out, and is quickly followed by Drego Sarhain. Dax' Athla goes out too, and they have a brief huddle. Drego suggest they need to find the traitor, so should split up and investigate the people of interest. Nyrielle will investigate Sheshka, the Queen of Stone, and Dax will go with her. That leaves Tzaryan Rrac for Drego, and they think that they won't need to investigate Gorodan Ashlord as Lozaal Daashor will be spending the day with him.
- Warden discusses using the ruby he got from the Zil to cast Divination, and they discuss what to ask, but decide to do it later.
- They discuss who will go with Drego, it seems it will be between Warden and Lozaal. For Lozaal, it depends if he is able to get permission to go out and party in the Crag. Kalshana will stay with Oargev ir'Wynarn and Terfel Glas.
- Following breakfast, they go and meet with Kethelrax the Cunning. He's a funky lil guy, and is very concerned with how the small folk, goblins, kobolds, halflings and gnomes are treated throughout Khorvaire.
- Kethelrax knows that Oargev ir'Wynarn doesn't have much to offer materially, but Kethelrax doesn't have much in terms of material goods either. He is, however, Sora Katra's favourite warlord, she said so, and so he can put in a good word with her if Oargev does the same with the other delegates. Oargev agrees, and then asks what Kethelrax thinks of the other delegates and countries.
- Kethelrax doesn't like the Zil, he just doesn't trust them. Smart, evidence of the cunning.
- He also thinks the Karrns seem a bit distant, cold. He likes the Brelish and the Talentans, but hasn't interacted much with the others.
- As the party is led back to the diplomat's hall by Drul Kantar, they run into the Brelish delegation leaving their meeting with Sheshka, the Queen of Stone. It seems it went badly, and Nyrielle shakes her head at them.
- They decide to speak to Sheshka next! Drul goes in to check if she is ready, and they overhear him talking to her. He comes back out and warns them that Sheshka has laid down a ground rule. There is a basilisk in the room, and if anyone harms him then Sheshka will kill them.
- Looks like Toli attacked the basilisk. Yikes.
- They agree, and in they go.
