Lore recap
You know who is always forgotten? The commoner.
And think the best way to explain the lore in a nutshell is how Average Joe in Enochia views the world on its most prominent topics.
This will hopefully help you understand the knowledge most characters can take for granted, and which lore pieces influence the lives of the commoners.
Average Joe's Viewpoint:
The Conflux
Joe knows that the Conflux was a cataclysmic event that unleashed chaos upon Enochia. It brought forth monsters and introduced entirely new races into the world.Emberstorms
He has a deep fear of Emberstorms, viewing them as deadly and a risk only the most foolhardy adventurers would engage in.The Gods & Godstones
Joe is aware of powerful beings who call themselves The Gods. He knows that conversations can occur through Godstones, and he hears stories of those who have sought divine guidance. The Fulfillment
He’s familiar with The Fulfillment, a euphoric sensation experienced by those who follow a god.Magic
Joe cannot do magic himself, but he has a friend who can snuff a candle and create small illusions. Magical items is the stuff rich people supposedly dabble and trade in.The Veil
He knows of a concept called 'The Veil' that supposedly makes it so that the inhabitants of this world is unaffected by powerful external forces such as the divine.- Races
He knows who the Ancients are, and identifies anyone else as Newbloods. He personally don't care much about anyone's origin, but he knows that a few people do.
Creating a character
Below are some notes that might be important when creating the character as it might deviate from classical D&D.- You can create a character that does not worship gods! Its perfectly possible in this setting to disregard gods.
- If you believe in gods, please familiar yourself with The Gods.
- The planes of existence are not the same, as a player, you are only familiar with the material plane (Enochia).
