The Agate Seekers continue exploring the emergency bunker under the ruins of the temple of Merikira te Ruvea in Aesil. After finding an exploring the medbay, finding several potions of healing, the party comes across a secret door, leading to a storage room containing a corpse with several bottles of alcohol, wearing the robes of a Speaker in Training like Raleni Vardek. Volk Lesnoy read the name on the tag on his uniform; "Ridu Navika, trainee speaker of Adin". Much to Mikhail's surprise, as this was written in Standard Illiadian, which Volk wasn't able to read.
Moving on to the room to the north of the central computer room, the party found what appeared to be a bottomless abyss, as well as a pair of glasses in a display case and a computer screen that said "Beyond this point are the most crucial and sensitive parts of this temple. Only those guided by a guide with the Eyes of Truth may proceed. You who is blessed by the Moon, The Sun, The Stars, by Quartz or by Obsidian, place your hand on the field and prove that you're worthy.".
After some thinking, both Volk and Dareth came to the conclusion that an Ena-User should probably do something here, so, after a rest, Mikhail put his hand on the field and the box opened. Mikhail then saw the invisible wall and path forward... as well as Volk's true appearance, immediately becoming unnerved and averting his eyes. The party then moved forward, fighting more Crystal Sentries and finding themselves in a room containing the statues of the draconic gods of Illiad; Adin, Avon, Merikira te Ruvea, Farrina and Deriel, with plaques that said that the way into the artifact storage room would require offerings. And with that, the party went on searching.
After finding a small workshop with blueprints of Ena-Weaponry and an Ena-Blade, as well as a defective greenhouse with a willow-bonsai and a cold storage room with a self-help book for public speaking, the party was able to make the appropriate offerings and move forwards to the storage room, finding several magic items left as gifts to the temple, as well as five display cases labeled: "Mirror of the Perfect Moment, Mask of Emotional Equilibrium, The Bronze Tiara, The Forest Garnet, The Jade Dictionary".
While Volk looked nostalgically towards the Forest Garnet's case, the party was able to find out that the case with the Mirror of the Perfect Moment was the only one still filled; finding the Mirror inside. And with that, the party returned outside, finding themselves back at Horvyn Quickstamp's camp after sunfall. Horvyn nervously greeted the party, asking if they found an artifact. After some confirmation from the party, he asked if they could give it to him with a stutter, which Volk vehemently denied. Mikhail then noticed that the grass next to him was weirdly squished flat... and Philomena Snapdragon attempted a ruse, gave Horvyn her Last Rites pistol, which promptly vanished out of Horvyn's hands as footsteps were heard.
Quickly and without hesitation, Philomena put on the Eyes of Truth that she took from Mikhail a moment ago and looked around, finding a Rakshasa, running away with the gun, as well as an Invisible Stalker sneaking up to the party. Initiative is rolled, Horvyn quickly hides, and more assailants of Hobgoblin ancestry make themselves known as a fight erupts. Mikhail attempts to cast a spell at the Rakshasa, which promptly laughs off Mikhail's "Magic Trick", much to everyone's worry.
That's when Volk felt something in him... almost like a door unlocking... and he pushed, opening it up... taking on his true form with a roar, and acquiring a boon in the process, frightening absolutely every creature on the field except his allies. And now, as the Rakshasa attempts to run away with a Mislead spell, which is immediately looked through by Philomena, with Volk in hot pursuit...
