The Harpers, or Those Who Harp, were a semi-secret organization dedicated to preserving historical lore, maintaining the balance between nature and civilization, and defending the innocent against the forces of evil across the Realms. Their reputation varies wildly with some seeing them as wide-eyed idealists, insufferable meddlers, or heroes of the people.
During the early Era of Upheaval, the Harpers engaged in numerous conflicts with the returned Netheril, The Zhentarim, and The Cult of the Dragon, stretching their resources and manpower. The Spellplague and Wailing Years seem to have finished off the diminished organization, which collapsed under the weight of innumerable calamities.
