Orc Raiders Near Wyvern Tor

Completed

A band of orc raiders flying an unknown banner have taken to raiding the eastern stretch of The Triboar Trail from a base somewhere near Wyvern Tor. The orcs have been seriously disrupting trade along the trail, cutting off Phandalin from much needed supplies and coin. In addition, the orcs have proved particularly savage, taking pleasure in killing and mutilating caravan workers. Harbin Wester has offered 200 GP raised by the people and businesses of Phandalin to be awarded to any group that removes the orc gangs from the area.

S009: A Second Bounty on the Orc Raiders

While investigating the Old Owl Well, The Party encountered Hamund Kost, a Red Wizard of Thay, who revealed that the orcs near Wyvern Tor had been scouting his encampment. Fearing an attack, Kost offered The Party an additional 200 GP to eliminate the raiders and return their banner as proof.

S010: The Many-Arrows Raiders Defeated

The Party located the orc encampment near Wyvern Tor and confronted its leader, Brughor Axe-Biter, who claimed the surrounding territory in the name of the Kingdom of Many-Arrows. Negotiations broke down, resulting in a fierce battle in which The Party killed Brughor, his ogre lieutenant Gorg, and the remaining raiders.

Searching the hideout, The Party discovered substantial quantities of stolen caravan goods, along with two Kingdom of Many Arrows Banners, one fashioned from flayed human skin. The discovery revealed the raiders' apparent allegiance and the brutality of their operations.

S014: Harbin Wester's Reward Collected

Upon returning to Phandalin, The Party presented the Many-Arrows banner to Harbin Wester and demanded the promised bounty. Wester repeatedly questioned their evidence before attempting to convince them to invest their reward in Phandalin instead. Vala Silverton and Orthanc Hellbringer refused, forcing the reluctant Townmaster to pay the full 200 GP.

Halia Thornton also expressed surprise at the involvement of Many-Arrows orcs, suggesting that the raiders may have belonged to a militant faction acting independently of the kingdom. She paid The Party another 200 GP for exclusive information about the location of the stolen caravan goods.
