The Docks District also known a Neverwinter Docks, is the westernmost district in the city of Neverwinter. The Docks was built between the exterior of the protective stone curtain wall, surrounding the natural harbor at the estuary of the Neverwinter River, which runs east-west through the center of the city and served as the main commercial and military port. The Docks were almost completely destroyed during The Ruining, severing Neverwinter's ties to lucrative sea trade. In the fall of 1468 DR, Dagult Neverember sailed into the Docks on the flagship of a fleet of trade vessels with military escorts, bringing much needed supplies to support the struggling efforts to rebuild. Neverember's first priority was rebuilding the docks to reconnect Neverwinter to the outside world, particularly to trade and supply coming from Waterdeep and to mercenaries from Mintarn who supplied him with military manpower to secure his new headquarters in The Protector's Enclave.
