Gruggly Missim was a dull-looking gnome cleric of Ruyebef that worked with his twin brother Gresely Missim as well as the goliath Arghan Highmaker Athuniano. He was a simple, strange creature, but was exceedingly loyal to those he cared about until his death in 951 IaC during the Battle for the Sun. His magic shone a dull grey, and smelled slightly of ash.
History
Gruggly, alongside his twin brother Gresely, was born in a small gnomish settlement in the outskirts of the Eldermoon Federation. Born into poverty, Gruggly had barely been alive for a year before his family was taken by disease, leaving only him and his brother alive. Somehow, the brothers managed to survive, making up a strange language to communicate in, a distant abomination of gnomish.
Gruggly and Gresely became rather familiar with death, especially cases caused by diseased. Frustrated that their loved ones were continually taken from them, the twins sought the guidance of the gods, and were answered by Ruyebef, who granted them the power to heal.
Gruggly and his brother Gresely joined forces with Arghan Highmaker Athuniano as the goliath passed through the Federation, latching onto him for his strength. The three built up a connection over time, and eventually continued onwards from Fusalis, seeking mercenary work along the way.
Gruggly was present when Arghan took up a contract to kill the Peas from the rogue Mardyth the Shade. Gruggly assisted Arghan in combat against the Peas outside of the city of Vardev after setting up an ambush, of sorts. However, Gruggly was defeated and taken to the Bandry Keep by Captain Harten, where he resisted questioning by the Peas and the Thurimbane, instead chattering incessantly in his odd version of gnomish.
When the Bandry Keep was later destroyed at the hands of Abrax, Gruggly escaped his capture and continued to pursue the Peas alongside Arghan and his brother. Gruggly later encountered the Peas again outside the walls of Caedalir. He "attacked" the party, mostly spending his time healing his brother and Arghan. After running out of spells, Gruggly wandered around aimlessly and eventually tried to crawl onto Journey's back, but failed.
When Arghan was killed by the blast of a giant explosive, Gruggly pleaded alongside his brother to Phaelnah Ellarian in order to have her resurrect the goliath. Phaelnah did so using the power of the Nightblight. Gruggly hugged the cleric after she successfully brought back Arghan, and walked off into the forest holding one of the hands of the giant man.
Gruggly would continue to pursue the Peas alongside Arghan, tracking them to the Tomb of Zelvass and healing his allies in the Unknown. After Mardyth's defeat, Gruggly sat around despondantly, waiting for orders from Arghan. When Arghan was hired by the Peas, Gruggly ventured out with him, healing the goliath as he pulverized the undead attacking the wall of Madrioc.
Gruggly accompanied Arghan and Gresely to the Isles of Wrath when they were summoned by the Peas to assist in the Battle for the Sun. Gruggly rode on Arghan's shoulders as he swam through the ocean, eventually being left at the shore of Slaghead Island, healing the defeated fighters. Moving out to the Night Bridge, Gruggly continued to offer his abilities to the fight, but was unfortunately felled by a creature of Jylurm when he sacrificed himself to save his brother. Gruggly's corpse was pulled into the sea, but was later rescued by the demigod Shalde.
Gruggly was remembered as a hero in the city of Madrioc, with his name immortalized alongside the others that fell in battle against the Nightseeker. However, his brother Gresely refused to let him lie dead, continually preserving his body with his clerical powers.
