The War of the Gods was a conflict between the Gods of El-Bayir, led by Beld, and the Gods of the Abyss, led by Apollyon over the rulership and fate of El-Bayir. 

The War of the Gods is also called the Milennium of Darkness or the Thousand Year Night as during the entirety of the War, Zot and Donere dueled each other in the sky, causing the Sun to remain stationary in the sky but eclipsed, blanketing the World in dim red light. The sky was also frequently blanketed in thick clouds of dragon smoke and debris, creating a sensation of constant night. It was said that during the War, the stars were not visible in the sky.
