Code of Conduct
Community Guidelines - Social Contract
Please respect each other and treat others how you’d like to be treated. This server does not condone:
- Bullying: Such as calling out a member for RP/IRL. This can be in voice chat, during a session or in OOC channels. There is a fine line between teasing and bullying. We always must remember Context is harder to do when in text form so before you post it, think about how you feel when you write it and how it might appear. If in doubt, change your wording.
Examples can be: slander, judgmental, demeaning words, passive aggressive commentary, dismissive, victimizing, negative direct comments, pettiness
- Way to ignore my character in RP.
- That’s so cliche for a character to be doing that, you should do it this way.
- Wow, okay then, fine.
- Uhh sure? I mean that’s totally not what I meant but okay.
- It isn’t that hard to figure out, my character said it this way but sure, whatever.
- Ugh again with the attitude, your character is such a *****.
- You’re taking things way too personally, I think you need to chill or go somewhere else.
- Toxic behavior. This is a broad range of behavior which can be difficult to classify, but is ultimately negative and disparaging. We're here to have fun, so please do not use this server to:
- Take anger, frustration, etc. out on others.
- Treat each other badly.
If you feel that you are the victim of toxic behavior, or feel you are being toxic and are having difficulty reigning that in, please talk to one of the Admins.
If you are having issues with one of the Admins, talk to another Admin. We are not exempt from the rules of our shared Social Contract.
- Unwanted commentary of your person - Such as flirtations, pictures, self portraits in DM's or Public chats/voice - if this is voiced to you, you are to stop.
- Racism, Homophobia, Discrimination, Trolling, Harassment (this includes harrassing gms for games), Advertisements,or Spam
- Non-Consensual PvP in RP. In session requires a GM communication first via the MOOD of the Quest ahead of time.
- NSFW in public RP channels, move it to DMs, please!
- Covert PvP (Stealing from party members) Keep it to NPCs, please.
- If something happens during a session that you don't like, make sure that you don't bring your emotions into RP. We understand that characters may share the same feeling and that's fine but it is usually obvious when someone is trying to make a statement that their character wouldn't. Take a minute and cool off then hop in RP. Aka - see our Temper comment in the roles of this document.
- What happens in character stays in character. Same for out of character. Don't take what happens in character personally to use against another member nor should you bring your personal feelings into character interactions. Such as fourth wall breaches. There are ways to RP this without lashing out with your characters. Allow others to play their characters as they see fit. If you feel that you/someone else is being targeted, make sure to report it to Admins/Fabled.
Examples are: Blaming, Victimizing, Assumption, Guilt, Shaming, Perception, Fourth wall Breach, Shunning, Self Projecting
- Your character did that on purpose to make me look bad. And then proceeds to RP - Joe then sneers.”Ya you’re such a ‘nice’ person to make me look bad like that.”
- OMG, how could your character know about that, don’t use that against me.
- I’m retiring my character because everyone hates them and not letting me play my character how I want.
- All you care about is making my character suffer.
- Hey, we’re rping here, why would yours join in like that? Quite trying to butt into our play and ruin the story.
- Like that would make sense for the NPC to do that, you’re abusing the NPC to step on my character.
- I don't believe your character truly would appreciate this in the least so they shouldn’t be there.
If you feel you’re being targeted by anything above, let a Admin know with some examples. We cannot be there all the time to catch things and will investigate accordingly.
Personal Space
Respect the boundaries of other players. Not everyone needs to like or play with each other. That being said, try to address issues between each other politely and if conflicts arise that require Fabled intervention please inform Admin.
- If this results in players not coming to agreement - Admin will mediate disagreements as needed.
NSFW
This is an 18+ Server. D&D isn't necessarily an 18+ game, but there are legal things we have to worry about when minors join our community. Not gonna ban 'em, but we do need to be conscious of this.
- NO lewd content in public channels.
- The "NSFW" role can be requested for access to 18+ channels.
- EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Discord TOS does not permit lolicon/shotacon NSFW content period. If you aren’t sure, don’t post it.
- If you don’t know what lolicon/shotacon means, it’s the sexual depiction of underage boys or girls with art, even if they are fictional characters.
Disciplinary Measures
We operate Orion on an 'honor rules' system. We do not currently have written discipline/punishment rules.
- We reserve the right to decide a punishment based on the issue at hand.
- This can range from simple verbal coaching to correct the issue, a warning, to an immediate and permanent ban, no questions asked.
- We prefer not to dole out punishments if possible but blatant and malicious defiance of the Code of Conduct or Social Contracts will not be tolerated. Period.
