Aruna Patil

Description

Once a researcher from D'jhara in Rajpathar. Aruna discovered a puzzle box that brought her into contact with Adibo. She has obtained powers from it, and willingly serves as its hands and eyes in the Material Plane.

As a scientist, Aruna is driven by her own definition of progress and disdains limitations placed by ethics and culture.

Abilities

Aruna has been granted magic through her connection with Adibo. She has trained herself to psionic frequencies, and is able to tap into the minds of others. Aruna can read thoughts and emotions, communicate telepathically, and access dreams. 

Within the Campaign

Aruna established contact with Vic'tel Vianrodeth (Chim) during The Ghost Festival, utilizing this cosmic event to expand her range of ability. Though Vic'tel was hesitant to trust her, they agreed to meet where Aruna left a sign in the Drains of Límíng City.

Upon meeting, Aruna offered to train Vic'tel's abilities as a warlock of Adibo and honed his connection with living minds. Their cordial relationship ended with the revelation that Aruna had abducted Florentine Raingard for her own purposes. 

Aruna was able to negotiate for her survival with Liutubang, and currently lives in the Warren. Although Liutubang lacks the necessities to hold her against her will, Aruna has stated that she does not intend to flee out of wariness of Yu Qiang. 

History

Aruna was born in a small island nation called Faran Iqueia. She landed in Rajpathar through the Feywild and willingly integrated into D'jharan culture. Aruna enlisted in the Department of Anomalous Arcane Affairs as a researcher until her work was condemned.

Moving her research out to The Northern Wastes, she began to explore the offerings of The Underdark. She encountered a mated pair of dragons and succeeded in the capture of the deep dragon and her incubating egg. The wyrmling that hatched from this egg was Florentine Raingard.

Aruna came into contact with a puzzle box during her work. Its proximity formed a loose connection with Adibo. Through this connection, Adibo began to influence her in its own curiosities. She became aware of its presence and chose to engage with and study it. As this connection grew, Aruna developed the abilities she wields today.

Aruna was present during the excavation that gave Lola her powers.
