An American from the Finger Lakes in West NY, Dakota Wilkinson was raised by Quakers in a small rural community. A sickly child, they studied hard to earn their way into a good University. And then, the exchange trip offer opened up with a grant for religious history and archive work, all the way in Ireland! 

Dakota is nonbinary, and prefers she/they pronouns. They won't get mad if you mess up, though - it's just human nature! Being raised traditionally had some downsides, but they are devoutly religious, doing their best to help people wherever able.

The whole "Public Universal Friend" thing is a reference to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_Universal_Friend . Feel free to call them Dakota, the Friend, or P.U.F.!

Falls really far from the top of the tree, and hits every branch on the way down. It's alright, I read the books.

Divine Thaumaturgy
Dakota has unlocked knowledge from a past life on divine cultivation techniques. By gathering and harnessing divine insight and lore through Theology, she can access and harness impressive magical abilities.

Divine Healing:
  • Dakota whispers a prayer for merciful healing, healing 1 HP, stabilizing the dying and healing over massive wounds.

Divine Aid:

  • Dakota gathers a group of at least 3 people to pray together, who hold hands in a circle. After reciting a prayer, they each gain +1/2 margin to their next Bravery roll.
  • Dakota repeats a mantra about temperance, and grants one person +1/2 margin to their next Self-Control roll.

Divine Sustenance

  • Dakota divides a portion of food, making more than there was. Feed 1 more person per margin.


Very Religious: Dakota is a witch, who bases their belief in Christian mysticism.

Code of Honour: Dakota believes strongly in following the 10 commandments. 

Athame: A golden crucifix, fitted in the center with a translucent Seer Stone. It acts as part of her translation process.

Blue Period: Dakota often sacrifices her physical needs for her research, translation, and prayer. She often justifies these as "fasting". 

Higher Purpose: Dakota is a reincarnated angel, who was cast down from heaven for sharing divine knowledge with mortals. She seeks to redeem herself, and earn her place - or, to fulfill her goal and bring ultimate truth to everyone.

Mental Illness: Dakota has bipolar disorder. She shifts from manic to depressive states rapidly. She takes medication to handle it, but it also serves as the source of much of her inspiration.

Cunning Linguist

  • Dakota has a fetish for speaking and flirting in Latin. It's... very specific, and very debilitating.
