Having finally arrived at The Barrens, the party set out about what to do next. They parted way with Shazga's Caravan and set their mind to find Tonga Runetotem -- though not before Drom Foebreaker revealed that he had some other plans now cut out for himself. Given what had happened to Drovan Wolfblade during the journey to The Crossroads, he had been talking with freshly widowed Aggi about where would be a good place to lay her husband to rest.
Together, the two had settled on one of the hills overlooking The Crossroads as a suitable spot. To this end, Drom decided to part ways with his adventuring companions, imploring them to look for other brave souls at the trading post while he now took on this new quest.
The rest of the party decided that Tonga would be their first priority, and then potential new aid after that. They first shopped around some more, to replenish after the journey, and then headed to the southern end of The Crossroads to find where the druids of the Cenarion Circle would be keeping home -- as they had mentioned in Turuk Thunderhoof's missive.
When they found Tonga, he and the other druids told the party of how they had been sensing curious energies emanating from down under the earth, far off in certain directions from the trade post. Unable to learn more simply by scrying from afar -- they had hoped to learn a little more out in the Barrens proper, rather than in Thunder Bluff -- and not much for fighting themselves, they asked for the party to seek out a particular region far to the north-west.
According to old maps, and confirmed by Gan Jedi's previous ventures in the Barrens, the area would be home to an old oasis. One that had been stricken from more recent maps for how unreliable of a source they had become.
Conveniently for the party, there appeared to be a watchpost on the same way that they could likely stop by, perhaps even spending the night there.
First of all, however, they needed to reinforce themselves. To this end they found a local tavern known simply as The Watering Hole; and within it they eventually came into chance conversation with another forsaken, something that had quickly piqued the interest of Zachariah Hallowhold. This stranger, dressed in shades of blue that had Gan suspicious he might bear allegiance to The Alliance in some way, turned out to be a paladin by the name Kelrith Shalith. He spoke of himself as a member of the Argent Dawn, here in The Crossroads as a westward emissary of the order.
After some discussions, time spent to familiarize one another, they all agreed that this was a plan that could very well work. They spent the night there in town and set themselves ready to venture out the next day after. They would set course due west, following the Gold Road to this watchpost, and then move on from there.
