Cruel paladins of blood, the Crimson Hand has cast a long shadow over The Shadowfell for many centuries. Initially, these Mythar warriors were chosen champions of the Mytharil Empire, noble and powerful paladins tasked with protecting their realm. However, their fate took a dark turn when they were deceived by Valekith.
The champions of the Mytharil Empire embarked on a perilous journey to seal Unknown, a mission critical to the survival of their world. Unknown to them, Valekith held back his own hoard of Infinity Shards, an act of treachery that damned their mission from the start. As a result, the champions were unable to complete their task, and the cataclysmic rift tore their world apart.
Warped by the dark energies of the Continuum Crisis, the once-noble champions were transformed into the hellish warriors now known as the Crimson Hand. Shadows of their former glory, they became embodiments of the very Khaos they sought to prevent.
Transformed by the dark magic of the Shadowfell and their own failures, the Crimson Hand became a force of relentless bloodlust and cruelty. Consuming their foes to gain their powers, they embodied the carnal sins they had grown an affinity towards in their years of battle. Each member of the Crimson Hand represents a deadly sin:
- Lucius: Leader of the Crimson Hand, known for his strategic brilliance and merciless tactics.
- Erwin: Consumed by his own vanity and arrogance, believing himself invincible.
- Tarkus: A berserker driven by uncontrollable rage and bloodlust.
- Astrid: Jealous of all who possess what she does not, willing to kill to obtain it.
The Crimson Hand is personally responsible for countless acts of destruction and terror throughout the Shadowfell. Notably, they caused the devastation of the Ruins of Voldren and played a significant role in the mutilation of Ascendant Valekith. Their insatiable hunger for power and dominance drove them to commit atrocities that echo through history.
In the final moments of the Battle of the Four Armies, the Crimson Hand faced their most formidable opponents yet. A united force of The Sunsations and Shadi Order opposed them, seeking to reclaim the arms of Valekith. Despite their immense power and the dark magic that fueled them, the Crimson Hand was ultimately defeated and the Crimson Hand Fortress destroyed.
