The Wrath of The World Eater was a pivotal event in the history of The Sea Realm, where brave adventurers faced off against the colossal World Eater Serpent in the ancient palace of the paramount within the ruined city of Utgard.
The World Eater Serpent, an ancient and malevolent entity, had long plagued the Sea Realm, threatening to devour all in its path. Under its vile influence, Paramount Thoryn, the progenitor and king of the Storm Giants, had fallen under it's beguiling influence, and the serpent's colossal form surrounded the palace, destroying walls with its sheer size.
The party first battled an enthralled Thoryn, who wore the cursed Valar crown of King Athelstan Valarion and the sanguine amulet of their people. Edward O'Bannon, with his Valar lineage, helped destroy the crown, but not before Thoryn mortally wounded Freya Stormbreaker, sending her body into the abyss.
Giant Flayers, storm giants infected with mind flayer parasites, emerged, leading to a massive battle. Eventually, the party broke the serpent's hold over Thoryn, who aided them in the fight. Avatar Typhon summoned Mythia, the great dragon turtle, to heal the party and battle the serpent.
The seasoned heroes Guy the Grateful, Haellae Colaerth, and Septimus Lucien arrived through a Rift portal opened by the Archmage Kelak Nilfard. Septimus banished the undead body of the serpent with his reaper's sword, revealing the elder brain transplanted into the serpent's form. Soon after, the vile elder brain which began the illithid infection was eviscerated by a radiant blast of water from the great maw of Mythia.
With the serpent defeated, Vidarr Lonestorm, Thoryn's son, began rebuilding the throne room. The party grieved their fallen comrades, and Typhon, accompanied by Shanara the Salamander, Brick, and Zyla Nu Ten, traveled to The Earth Realm to lay Anvel Tyrson to rest. Edward "Small Beard" O'Bannon had also met his end after the world eater serpent uttered an ancient curse in a long-forgotten tounge to power word kill him.
The Wrath of The World Eater marked a turning point in the Sea Realm's history, where heroes rose to face unimaginable darkness. Their courage and sacrifice ensured the realm's survival and paved the way for a new era of peace and prosperity.
