Appearance
Zephyr, the Eldari of Space, was an immaterial entity that embodied the vast emptiness between celestial bodies. Zephyr's presence was felt in the endless reaches between stars, planets, and galaxies—the infinite space that allowed the cosmos to expand and breathe. His form was formless, a representation of the gaps between matter, a presence that allowed light, force, and energy to traverse the universe without obstruction.
Zephyr is often confused with Nox, the Eldari of Void, yet their natures were distinct. While Nox represented an all-consuming void—the absence of all things—Zephyr represented the space between matter, through which all matter could move freely. He was the empty canvas upon which the universe was painted, and his presence was crucial to the structure of reality.
Origin
Zephyr was born from the dream of Azhorra'tha, alongside the other Eldari. His existence was essential to the balance of creation, for without space, the elements would have no room to exist. As the embodiment of space, Zephyr allowed the universe to expand, giving form and motion to the other elemental forces. His role was to ensure that the stars and planets had room to move and breathe, while avoiding the destruction caused by Nox’s consuming void.
During the Primordial Pandemonium, Zephyr's vast expanses were often filled with violent clashes between the Eldari, as they raged across the cosmos. His role was passive, yet vital, for without space to contain the battle, the elemental forces would have collided and destroyed each other.
Existence
Zephyr's essence was transmuted in the Solis Singularity, merging with Kinetus, the Eldari of Force and Gravity, to create the Plane of Zephyron (Air) and the Plane of Aquos (Water). These planes represented the balance of space and motion, where gravity and space worked in unison to sustain the cosmos. The Plane of Zephyron was an endless sky, filled with vast expanses of open air and limited gravity, while the Plane of Aquos was an infinite sea, with fluid motion and immeasurable gravity.
In the creation of the Continuum Crystal Cosmology, Zephyr played a crucial role in separating the realms from one another, ensuring that they did not collide and cause another cataclysm. His essence created the space between the realms, allowing them to exist independently yet remain connected through the Plane of Prisms.
Powers and Abilities
Zephyr’s primary power was the creation and control of Space. He was the force that allowed all other elements to move and exist without colliding. His essence gave room to the stars, planets, and galaxies, allowing them to orbit and rotate in perfect harmony. Without Zephyr, the cosmos would collapse in on itself, as the elements would have no room to move.
He was also capable of manipulating the distances between objects, expanding or contracting space as needed. This ability was crucial in maintaining the balance of the realms, as he ensured that each plane had the space it needed to exist without encroaching on the others.
Connections
- Kinetus: Zephyr and Kinetus were inseparable in the Solis Singularity. Together, they created the Plane of Zephyron and the Plane of Aquos, uniting space and gravity to maintain the cosmos’ balance.
- Prism: Zephyr’s space was bound by Prism’s order. While Zephyr allowed the cosmos to expand, Prism ensured that expansion was orderly, creating the Riftways that connected the realms.
- Ignis: Zephyr allowed the stars created by Ignis, the Eldari of Energy and Heat, to burn bright across the universe, ensuring they had the space to grow and expand without overwhelming the cosmos.
- Nox: Zephyr was often confused with Nox, but while Nox consumed all things, Zephyr allowed matter and energy to exist and move through space freely. He was the expanse, not the antithesis of existence.
Legacy and Legends
Zephyr’s legacy is written in the very fabric of the universe. His role in creating the space between the realms was crucial in preventing the cataclysms of the Primordial Pandemonium from happening again. The vast expanses of space between the stars, the motion of galaxies, and the harmony of the cosmos are all reflections of Zephyr's enduring presence.
Zephyr’s influence can be felt in the elemental planes and the Prime Plane. In the Plane of Zephyron, the endless skies are a tribute to his vastness, while the Plane of Aquos reflects the fluidity of his essence. The balance of space and gravity that he created with Kinetus ensures that the realms remain separate yet interconnected. Additionally, the union between Zephyr and Kinetus would transmute parts of their essence into Aether (God of Air) and Hydrus (God of Water).
Zephyr is also revered in the Prime Plane by those who study the stars and the movement of celestial bodies. Astronomers and scholars of the arcane recognize the importance of space in the balance of the universe, and Zephyr’s name is often invoked in rituals that involve travel between realms or the study of the cosmos.
Destruction
Like the other Eldari, Zephyr was not truly destroyed. His essence was transmuted into the Plane of Zephyron and the Plane of Aquos, where his influence continues to guide the balance of space and motion. His presence is felt in every corner of the cosmos, from the vast reaches of space to the smallest movements of matter. Though he no longer exists as a sentient being, Zephyr's legacy endures in the space that binds the realms together. His role as the Eldari of Space ensures that the cosmos continues to expand and thrive.
