Destiny of the Dragonborn

Sacred Y'azi Prophecy

The Destiny of the Dragonborn is a fated cycle interwoven with the history of the Y’azi Peninsula, prophesying the rise of Twin Dragon Warriors chosen by the draconic gods Fujin and Raijin to serve as guardians of the Y’azi Empire. This destiny began with the first Y'azi Dragonborn Champions, Kenshiro Takeda (Dragon of the East) and Masaru Hayashi (Dragon of the West), and continues in the modern age with Tatsujiro Kazuo and Kairus the Brass.

The First Champions

In the early days of the Y'azi Empire, Kenshiro Takeda, a samurai of unparalleled agility and cunning, was chosen by Fujin, the god of wind, to become the Dragon of the East. Likewise, Masaru Hayashi, a warrior of unyielding strength and fierce resolve, was chosen by Raijin, the god of lightning, to serve as the Dragon of the West. The gods bestowed upon them divine gifts: two sacred katanas infused with the elements of their domains.

  • Kazehikari (Wind's Radiance): A blade of shimmering steel that seemed to ripple like a mirage, it carried the silent, unyielding power of the wind, a symbol of Fujin’s resilience and stealth.
  • Arashi no Ikari (Storm's Fury): A crackling weapon alive with lightning, each strike a testament to Raijin’s ferocity and decisive strength.

These two warriors, bound by divine will and shared destiny, became the first of the Order of the Jade Dragon, an elite brotherhood of samurai dedicated to protecting the Dragon Emperor and the empire. They established the Temple of Fujin and the Temple of Raijin, founding the disciplines of the Unknown and the Unknown. Their legacy, immortalized in song and tale, inspired the prophecy of their return.

Prophecy of the Twin Dragons

This prophecy, recited through generations by the samurai of the Order of the Jade Dragon, foretells the return of the Twin Dragons in times of great peril. It is a call to balance, sacrifice, and harmony, rooted in the stoic teachings of the Y’azi samurai and the divine wisdom of Fujin and Raijin.

"When the empire trembles under a crimson sky,
Two dragons shall rise from the ashes of strife,
Bound by wind and storm, by blood and honor.
One shall be the breath of resilience, the wind that whispers of survival.
The other, the pulse of fury, the lightning that cleaves the storm.
Together, they will carve a path through chaos,
Not as conquerors, but as saviors who walk the edge of their blades.
Harmony shall temper their strength, sacrifice shall forge their bond.
And when the final storm is silenced,
The rising sun shall carry their names, eternal as the heavens."

The Second Awakening

In the modern age, the prophecy began to unfold. Kairus the Brass, a dragonborn warrior of boundless resolve, challenged Tatsujiro Kazuo, a fiery and skilled warrior, to restore the honor of Tatsu Yomokai, a disgraced samurai. Yomokai had fallen out of favor with Tatsujiro due to the latter’s brash demeanor, and the duel was a bid to reconcile the broken bond.

In the Kenjutsu Dojo, under the watchful eyes of Kanzo Tatsugami, the two warriors clashed in a duel of remarkable intensity. Their blades rang out in sharp, resonant strikes, each movement a testament to their mastery. For hours, they fought, pushing each other to the brink. In the final moments, they struck simultaneously, both warriors collapsing to their knees, unconscious but still gripping their swords.

When they awoke hours later, the dojo was silent, bathed in moonlight. Kanzo, standing solemnly amidst the stained sand, recited the prophecy of the Twin Dragons. Raising his hands to the heavens, he summoned Kazehikari and Arashihono, the divine blades of Fujin and Raijin. The katanas descended in a gale of wind and a bolt of lightning before being bestowed to the warriors, their ethereal light casting the dojo in hues of silver and gold.

Kanzo spoke: "The heavens have chosen you. East and West. Wind and storm. Together, you shall bear the weight of our salvation." He wrapped a sealing paper around their bloodied hands, binding them together in a sacred pact. The paper ignited in a flash of divine energy, its ashes swirling around them before disappearing into the air.

The Twin Dragon Warriors

Now recognized as the Twin Dragon Warriors, Tatsujiro Kazuo and Kairus the Brass carry the mantle of Kenshiro and Masaru. Their bond, forged in blood and honor, is one of balance—Tatsujiro embodies the cunning and speed of the wind, while Kairus wields the strength and fury of the storm. Together, they are destined to protect the Y’azi Empire against the tides of Khaos.

Yet their journey is not one of glory, but of sacrifice. They walk the path of duty, their blades carving through trials that will test their harmony and resolve. The prophecy speaks not only of their strength, but of their unity, for only together can they withstand the storm threatening to consume the empire.

Legacy of the Dragonborn

The Destiny of the Dragonborn is more than a cycle of champions—it is the soul of the Y’azi Empire. It embodies the balance of opposing forces: wind and lightning, resilience and power, honor and sacrifice. The Twin Dragons, bound by destiny, remind all samurai of the sacred duty they bear—not to seek conquest, but to preserve harmony and protect those who cannot protect themselves.

As the storm of chaos looms on the horizon, the empire looks to its guardians, the Twin Dragons, whose blades shine as brightly as the rising sun, guiding the way through darkness.
