Thousands of years prior to Common Unification, Copperbreach was a prosperous, if isolated, Dwarven kingdom in the northeastern Snoutridge. Ruled by the most famous dwarf in the Kingdom of the Twelve Mountains, Diarmuid Brasshand, Copperbreach became the seat of power in the region after the War Of The Dark DwarvesCenturies after the war, however, it was decided that the kingdom needed a more centralized place from which to extend power. The ruling family of Brasshand moved to the newly-established settlement of Brazenthrone, and Copperbreach became ruled by a vassal family.

Scholars continued to debate exactly when or how Copperbreach fell, but in the thousand years that followed after it was displaced as the seat of the High King, it was sacked. The once-mighty city became a ruin, home to nothing but the souls of those who died there.
