Those who bore the Mark of Strahd swore loyalty to Strahd von Zarovich, who had complete dominion over Barovia. Strahd's loyalists were diverse in both species and intellect; whether wearing the mark directly or indirectly, he controlled Mortalkind followers, Vampire Spawn and other semi-intelligent Undead, and Wolf and other Beasts prowling lands. Though many within his cult maintained their own schemes, vying for position and prestige, all ultimately bent to Strahd's will.
