Identifiable by its wooden sign depicting a blue waterfall and the several Ravens always perching on its sagging roof, the Blue Water Inn was named after Lake Zarovich just north of Vallaki. The two-story tavern was the only place in town that received shipments from the Wizard of Wines, and was thought of as one of the few bright spots in the city. It was a hub for many locals, and owned by the Martikov family after being purchased by Urwin Martikov.
However, residents were not aware of the Blue Water Inn's true secret; it housed dozens of ravens in a hidden aviary, which spied on central Barovia and reported back to Urwin. The inn was actually the headquarters of the Keepers of the Feather, a group of Wereravens dedicated to keeping Barovia as safe as possible from Strahd von Zarovich.
