In Curse Of Strahd, Marzena met Pack, asking them to free her and warning them that they were being watched. She also requested that they kill Mishka; though they were attacked by the young man, the Pack refused, leaving her chained in the courtyard. 

Months after this, Marzena was still chained in the courtyard as the Abbey was visited by the Heralds of Dawn. The gift of Lydia Petrovna's wedding dress, brought to him by the adventurer Ghalwin of the Grove, was the final piece The Abbot believed Vasilka needed to marry Strahd von Zarovich. He carefully altered the gown to fit her frame, with every tear mended and every yellowed thread replaced. Once her training was complete, the two dictated letters of invitation, and The Abbot restored the old warped pine carriage that had sat in the abbey courtyard for decades.

Rather than harnessing Horses to it, he instead was pulled by dozens of Mongrelfolk, who also bore supplies to feed them for a long journey. Marzena was attached to this wagon with a 60 foot chain, flying ahead and above to scout for her kin. This caravan carried the letters to the homes of the uneasy residents of Krezk, and emptied the Abbey, then traveled the Old Svalich Road for weeks. They stopped in Vallaki to press invitations into the hands of the townsfolk, and The Abbot healed the mind of Stella Wachter at Ghalwin's request. They continued on to Castle Ravenloft, where Strahd welcomed them, and agreed to the marriage. However, the Count turned at the last moment and attacked, resulting in the bloody carnage of the Vasilkan Wedding.

Marzena, like the rest of the mongrelfolk in attendance, was ripped apart by Vampire Spawn at Strahd's command. Her body was staked on a long, conjured metal spike leading to the castle from the Black Carriage Crossroads, as yet another symbol Strahd's wrath.
