Ludmilla Villisevic

Ludmilla Villisevic was orphaned young in the Village of Barovia; her parents went to check on their seemingly quiet neighbors, but were met with a house full of Zombies that ripped them apart. Begging and stealing to survive, she eventually became a young prostitute operating from her family home, learning when to flirt and when to grovel to keep her clientele happy. However, she was living a powerless life alongside her fellow villagers, who lived in constant fear from attacks by Strahd von Zarovich. When she heard rumors that the Count had noticed her, she saw a chance to change her fate.

Ludmilla approached him, and offered not just herself but her loyalty and wit. Strahd found her boldness interesting and brought her to Castle Ravenloft, and in conversation with her, saw her as more than a servant. Unlike others who feared or worshiped him, Ludmilla's fawning playfulness amused him. She learned how to navigate the castle’s politics and earned a place by his side, becoming one of the few he truly favored. He married her, and turned the new Countess of Barovia into a Vampire Spawn of exceptional power.

Unlike other spawn, Ludmilla's natural ability to subtly manipulate others gave her powers beyond her peers. Over decades, she learned how to use Vampiric charm in the same way a full Vampire could, though she never mastered the ability to the same extent as her lord Strahd.
