Prime Fungoon

Sovereign

Prime Fungoon was among the oldest Myconid Sovereigns of the Mycowood, a massive purple and white Myconid whose wide body was draped in layered fronds. From their earliest days, Prime Fungoon had shown an unusual depth of thought, lingering often at the roots of One Who Remembers to receive more than visions. It was said they were shaped not only by the collective memory of the forest, but by the direct and deliberate intent of the ancient being itself, and were eventually chosen as its interpreter.

As interpreter of the One's will, Prime Fungoon rarely left Sporehome, yet their presence was known across the Mycowood. Colonies sent spores and sovereigns to commune with them, seeking guidance when collective dreams grew clouded or when disputes threatened the order of the forest. Though they carried no crown or token of rule and had no desire to impose direction on other sovereigns, Prime Fungoon’s authority was unquestioned. Their wisdom was slow, deliberate, and patient, measured in years rather than moments, and they discouraged rash action, reminding the Myconids that all change must first take root before it could bear fruit.

That patience was revealed to be a downfall, however when Ochre Glow fell to an unexpected attack by Vegepygmy allies. The shared memory of its destruction rippled through the Mycelium, a wound felt by every colony at once. Prime Fungoon received the grief and fear of the Myconids but counseled against immediate retaliation, fearing to draw the Mycowood into ruin through haste. Instead, for the first time in many generations, Prime Fungoon sent a Myconid beyond the spore-mist. A Myconid Adult named Umbloom was chosen, entrusted with a message to the Smallfolk beyond the Grove.
