Sassafras Flashlashes

Sassafras Flashlashes was a young Fairy who worked as an enforcer for the Glitterati, hand-picked by Don Coriander Thorn. She was born in the Faeriefort, raised among its moss-lit lanes and careful traditions, and was known early for her bright spirit and restless curiosity. Sassafras was good-natured and earnest, eager to prove herself useful, but she chafed against the caution of the elders and the narrow bounds of life within the sinkhole village. Drawn by stories of adventure, power, and fairy greatness beyond the Murkmire Marshlands, she left the fort and followed the path carved by Coriander and his followers.

Within the Glitterati, Sassafras served as a courier, lookout, and occasional muscle, relying on speed, daring, and clever use of glamour rather than brute force. She did not relish cruelty and often tried to frame her work as necessary or temporary, convincing herself that the organization’s growing power would one day secure a better future for all displaced Fey. She formed a close friendship with Snapdragon Poplarchop, Don Coriander’s right-hand enforcer, finding in him a shared discomfort with violence and a mutual desire to believe in Coriander’s promises. Unlike Snapdragon, however, Sassafras fully trusted that the Don’s ambition would lift their people into respect and safety, rather than bind them deeper to crime.

Her absence weighed heavily on the Faeriefort. Laceleaf Flashlashes, the village elder and Sassafras’s mother, never abandoned hope that her daughter would return home. Laceleaf spoke often of forgiveness and of a place waiting for Sassafras among the fort’s lights and gardens. Sassafras, for her part, carried memories of home with her, though she buried them beneath bravado and faith in a future that had not yet come to pass.
