Founded by the master Rogue Nessa Nina Quickpick Rumbauld Pennyluck, the Whistledrop Crew was a thieves’ guild that operated in the larger Fencrest Foothills, though were based in the town of Phyracress. Though they were thieves, they followed a code of honor, stealing mainly from high-profile targets or acting to aid those in serious trouble.
As decades passed, Nessa Nina’s skills atrophied, and the Whistledrop Crew took fewer jobs. Though talented thieves still remained among their number, the organization seemed destined to fade away until the founder met a skilled Vistani named Dee. Dee expressed interest in taking over the Crew and learned many of Nessa’s techniques, which she hoped in turn to pass on to a bright-eyed recruit named Ellenor Breatham.
Unbeknownst to the Crew, the Breatham house had hired a mercenary company to track down Ellenor, who was secretly a runaway bride. The pursuit was led by Nigel Breatham and, after a far-flung chase, eventually uncovered the Whistledrop Hideout. In the Ambush At The Whistledrop Hideout, mercenaries slaughtered the unsuspecting rogues, including Dee, and only a handful of members managed to escape. In the aftermath, Ellenor vanished, and Nessa Nina formally declared the Whistledrop Crew disbanded.
