Punmiri Tel-Phaeun

Punmiri Tel-Phaeun (translated literally to "Flicker Faith-of-Sylph" in Scycaen, though name-meanings were more symbolic in that language), more commonly known as "Poons", was born in Scil-Jehonna to a family of jewelers from the mountain regions near the SylphgladeFamily lore claimed that her great-grandparents once saved a Fey in danger in those forests, and were rewarded with a blessing of magic, though for generations this gift never manifested.

Punmiri looked to avoid marriage and dependence on kin, intent on sustaining herself by skill alone. She took up her parents’ vocation as a jewel cutter and proved highly capable, while also teaching herself weaving, leatherworking, tool repair, and the preparation of basic medicines. Despite her competence, she found artisan life unfulfilling and increasingly stagnant. Seeking meaning, Punmiri entered a holy temple she believed to be a social and spiritual refuge.

Thi sect was in truth a cult, devoted to the shadow divinity Ixhisand practiced rites of duplicity and misdirection. Within this environment, her latent power as a Cleric emerged. She became able to conjure illusions and heal others, and recognizing her innate gifts, the clergy taught her how to move in armor, use Spellcraft in battle, and was gifted a Wand of Magic Detection. Though regarded as a favored initiate, she found the routine of temple life as dull as her former trade-work; days at the church were boring, even for the acolytes of a trickery god.

Pivoting again, Poons brushed up on her Common using the church's extensive library and left her homeland, sailing to Commona in search of a life shaped by her own choices rather than prescribed roles. Landing in the marble city of Cliffsunder, she looked to strike it rich, and became involved in the Middlecliff Market. Still an artisan, she set up a stall to sell her wares, but also still looked to employ the skills she had learned from her trickery cult. She would steal from those in the market looking to cheat their customers; though she was never spotted by a vendor or guard, by chance, she was inadvertently spotted by retired Rogue Nessa Nina Quickpick Rumbauld Pennyluck.

The cleric was inadvertently drawn into the affairs of the Whistledrop Crew, as Nessa Nina recognized the value of Punmiri’s trickery magic. The Scycaen temporarily relocated to the Whistledrop Hideout in Phyracress, where she was trained in theft. For a time, she became a notable and unconventional addition to the crew, who could help in both making supplies, healing wounded members, and as an excellent distraction during heists.

Punmiri was not present for the Ambush At The Whistledrop Hideout; after the disaster, Nessa Nina dissolved the Crew, leaving the cleric once again without direction. Now acutely aware of the risks of criminal life, but unwilling to return to either artisan work or the clergy, she set her sights on a different ambition. Not content with merely being a crafstman, an acolyte, or a thief, Punmiri decided to infiltrate the high society of Upper Cliffsunder, and would reshape herself as a rags-to-riches noblewoman.
