Yuzzik was a Goblin thief, born to a small Goblinoid tribe in the Murkmire Marshlands. From an early age, he wanted status, wealth, and followers, but lacked the strength or reputation to claim them. Instead, he relied on boasting, intimidation, and elaborate plans that usually failed to achieve their intended results. Even so, Yuzzik was persuasive enough to attract companions, most notably the Bobgoblin Slonk, whom he convinced to follow him in search of greater opportunities beyond the marshes.

Yuzzik joined the Go-Getter Goblins after meeting Ipgrix the Go-Getterand quickly became convinced that the goblin captain was destined for greatness. He pledged his loyalty and rose to the position of first mate, overseeing the crew and enforcing Ipgrix's orders while introducing Slonk as both muscle and as a bosun. Yuzzik ruled the other goblins harshly, using threats and punishments to maintain discipline while presenting himself as the captain's most trusted "advisor". He viewed the growing smuggling operation as the beginning of a much larger criminal empire and expected to share in its success.

Those ambitions came to an abrupt end when Ipgrix was arrested in Fang's End, his three sloops seized by city militia. Yuzzik escaped alongside Slonk and the quartermaster Eliwyse Widdershins in an unmarked dinghy, but disagreements quickly emerged during their journey back toward the Murkmire Marshlands. Without Ipgrix to settle disputes, Yuzzik and Eliwyse argued constantly over leadership and what to do next. When they finally reached shore, Eliwyse stole the dinghy and the group's remaining supplies before departing for Cliffsunder, leaving the two goblinoids stranded.

Shortly afterward, Yuzzik and Slonk were pursued by a group of Lizardfolk warriors and fled into a cave, where they accidentally discovered an entrance to the Undermire. The pair survived in the Deepways for a time before being captured by a militia patrol from Little Lockford. They were brought to the rock Gnome city and imprisoned, where Yuzzik spent days complaining about his misfortune and insisting that Ipgrix would eventually return to rescue him. He remained incarcerated until the events of the Big Little Lockford Lockdown.
