Everard Lyschtager II was an Angelborn Human born into the Lyschtager family, elder son of Everard Lyschtager and heir apparent to the family's holdings in upper Cliffsunder. Where his younger brother Earnest Lyschtager was born plainly human, Everard carried their father's Celestial blood as visibly as Everard the elder did, and the household treated the resemblance as proof of something. From his earliest years he was the child worth watching, the one tutors leaned toward and guards kept closest, and he grew up fluent in the particular ease of being wanted.
His schooling ran alongside his brother's, the same private tutors passing through the same halls of the Lyschtager Estate, but the attention split unevenly between them from the start. Once that shared education ended, Everard took up the place his father had marked out for him for years: a working seat alongside Everard the elder at the Fayan Trading Company. He learned the business early and well, and the ledgers and correspondence of the company came to bear his hand as often as his father's.
The company was never the whole of him. Everard trained as a Paladin, and swore his oath not to any god or temple but to the Lyschtager name itself, a vow to defend and uphold what the family had built. The household spoke of the choice the way they spoke of everything he did: as further proof that duty and blood ran the same direction in him. That same trust extended to the estate's warded halls. Of everyone who lived or worked there, only three people held the true path through the illusion that guarded its Illusion-riddled inner wing: his father, the blue Dragonborn head guard Andurax Rasdaar, and Everard himself.
He wore the role as the inheritor of the Lyschtager house easily, the golden boy's gift for making difficult things look inevitable, and where Earnest wandered the ordinary wings of the estate alone, Everard moved through both the company's affairs and his own training as though both had been built for him.
