Previous: Session 045; Next: Session 047
Start: 23rd of Houden, evening, browsing Distilled Myths
The Bill's Bimbos were in Qir'ellan'alak, and were browsing Soma's magic items offered within Distilled Myths. Aoife Sweeney bought the Card Sharp's Deck and the Boots of the Cloud Jumper, Calliope bought the Spellwoven Robes, and Rohtagels bought the Immovable Rod. On their way out, Soma mentioned that a group of 3 Goblins (Forthild stole the bottle, Garbalor and Stenke assisted) had stolen her most valuable bottle of wine, a vintage Opulidian.
The Bill's Bimbos and Bill Brouwen went to the Depthsong Tavern. Everyone else went to bed, and Calliope went to Daisy Dewdown's room. During their discussion, Daisy Dewdown revealed that she has been in Qir'ellan'alak searching for an elven woman, Chanrea Mellorius (the woman inside Swansong). Calliope felt she was keeping information from him, and felt some sort of psychic influence wash over him briefly. During this whole interaction, Tacidwaas within Focal was warning Calliope about possible betrayal and poison. Daisy Dewdown offered Calliope some wine and slipped a dose of Original Sin (Poison) into his glass. When Calliope, the poison coursed through him and he lost consciousness.
Calliope experienced some memories from the life of Tacidwaas: roaming a rainy stone street, killing a guard for around a noble before killing him as well. Tacidwaas was wielding a rougher version of the pink-crystal knife. Tacidwaas then burned the documents the noble had been holding so they were irrecoverable. Calliope bonded with Focal and Tacidwaas, learning that he was an assassin who dedicated his life to Reduseer, as he sank into paranoia and mania.
The next morning, the 24th of Houden, the Bill's Bimbos awoke in their rooms in Depthsong Tavern. With Calliope missing, they went into the hall and found the Vaakbonds and Don Tristurro investigating a trashed room down the hall. Inside they saw furniture slashed, papers burned, and the window shattered by a seemingly one-sided struggle. This was Tacidwaas, after being granted control over Calliope's body, attacking Daisy Dewdown. In the struggle she was thrown from the room through the window, Tacidwaas lingered to burn the scattered parchment before pursuing. Arwa Hathspelt and Aoife Sweeney determined that Daisy Dewdown fled northwest, towards the Orc ward, while Calliope had run northeast towards the Fiend ward.
Calliope came to in a leather chair withing Drak'torin and Spawn, Law Offices of the Vengeful. Inside, he spoke with Drak'torin, a Rakshasa who operates here in Qir'ellan'alak. Reviewing his new bond with Tacidwaas, Calliope discovered burgeoning powers now possible with Focal. He exited the office and reunited with the rest of the Bill's Bimbos in Bloodless Center.
Here, Aoife Sweeney spotted a pair of Goblins, one throwing daggers at another. She recognized the target as Garbalor, one of the goblins who had stolen the vintage Opulidian from Soma. They grabbed him up and made him tell all: the bottle may have already been drunk, and Forthild had been the one to steal the bottle. If still intact, it should be displayed near Forthild's quarters within the Goblin Warrens, on the north side of Qir'ellan'alak. Not wanting Garbalor to return to the warrens, they brought him to Depthsong Tavern. Don Tristurro was happy to reopen the Goblin hole, a small trapdoor to a 20 cubic foot stone chamber next to the bathrooms inside the tavern. They put Garbalor inside and left.
Making their way to the Orc ward, Calliope disguised themselves as Drow child and Argus von Steinberg disguised themselves as an Orc teen. Entering the Orc ward they observed dozens of Orcs having normal conversations while engaging in a bare knuckled brawl. Calliope began to ask around for Daisy Dewdown, and some Orcs who know her became suspicious, with one splitting off to enter a nearby hut.
End: 24th of Houden midday. Aoife Sweeney is studying the history of Chanrea Mellorius in Rathian Hall with Liriel. The rest of the Bill's Bimbos is infiltrating the Orc ward, searching for Daisy Dewdown.
