Start: 16th of Venusta, afternoon, at the base of the tumble in Malebolga, with Ket Judinor and Olizan who will leave for Seraphar shortly.
Olizan and Ket Judinor said their goodbyes and left for Seraphar, aiming to return to Sanctumyr and assess the situation with the Legion of the Illuminate. Bill's Bimbos, Arix, and Vijkastra Misseer surveyed the surrounding area of Malebolga. They camped out in a lower angular stone area, near a ledge to obscure them from the tumble mountain and took a long rest. Arix was impacted by the poison gas around, but Old Amber Frostlight healed him of it quickly.
After their rest, the group entered an office near the bottom of the tumble: Drak'torin and Spawn, Law Offices of the Vengeful. Inside, the saw a put fiend with a tight suit which was actively burning away at the sleeves and pant legs, a bowl of Kwick Curses, and Drak'torin himself behind the main desk. Inquiring after Calliope, he shared that Calliope's soul was procured by Avo'catalin, a Fiend high up the tumble near the edge of the acid rain.
Bill's Bimbos climbed the tumble and entered Avo'catalin, Lemur, and Co.. They were given an infofrmation sheet to fill out and a ticket with an ever-changing number. They spied a few devils being helped or discussing various matters with the legal aide Rakshasas who worked beneath Avo'catalin, including a pair of Imps sharing a briefcase who claimed to be waiting here for 10-15 years. Arwa Hathspelt introduced herself as the mother of the current Archdevil of Wrath, Burnie Hathspelt, and one Rakshasa aide immediately ushered the group to the back, to the auction hall. Inside, they saw pit fiends, devils, and a crowd of imps all bidding for the soul of Calliope, who was chained to the center dais. The bidding was halted by the ever-increasing bid of over 1,000 souls by the Imp party, who was discussing the specifics of their bid with Avo'catalin himself. The party approached, and offered to buy Calliope outright. Avo'catalin offered that the party either kill the current Archdevil of Fraud, Abhaddanamir, or steal a bejeweled skull from the collection within his palace, the Namir Pedastal. The party agreed and left.
Old Amber Frostlight and Rohtagels kidnapped 5 imps and stuffed them into the boat summoned by the Conch Shell Of The Abyssal Pontoon in order to act as a barrier between them and the acid rain. The imps died, but the party navigated the acid rain without injury and snuck up to the Namir Pedastal exterior. Scoping it out, they circled around to a trophy room with all sorts of skulls and defeated creature remains within, including a Pit Fiend rug. They saw a Rakshasa attendant swap out one skull for another, and moved out of site. They followed him, and saw him open a secret passage to stairs downward. They fought and killed that Rakshasa and ran downstairs, having alerted the compound. The party triggered various traps in the subsequent hall, teleporting or avoiding some but successfully navigating past them all. THey avoided the Sphere of Annihilation door at the end, passed through another illusory wall, and entered the vault.
Inside they spotted several treasures behind magical obsidian bars: dual hellish axes, golden fiendish armor, a strung up and tortured Rakshasa, a pile of gold, and 3 skulls (one obsidian with pearls for eyes, one marble with opals for eyes, one jade with a sapphire and a ruby for eyes). Old Amber Frostlight ran up and punched the obsidian bars to the skulls, damaging it but triggering the magic circle. A wall of force sprung up, and a manifestation of Abhaddanamir was summoned. The summoned Fiend roared, flexed its 6 arms, and engaged the party.
During the fight, Vijkastra Misseer held off the Rakshasa reinforcements with a summoned demon of her own. Abhaddanamir summoned a cloud of burning monkeys, critically injuring most, and his clawed attacks severely damaged Old Amber Frostlight and Crax Goobadink. Crax Goobadink and Rohtagels went down, and spells splashed ineffectually against Abhaddanamir. Despite his hardy build, Old Amber Frostlight and Rohtagels dealt significant damage (326 damage total), bloodying 3 of the 5 heads and making good progress in subduing the summoned Archfiend. However, after Arwa Hathspelt busted past the obsidian bars and recovered all 3 Skulls of Exethuun, the party teleported away.
They returned to Avo'catalin, and traded the jade skull for Calliope's soul. With him recovered, Vijkastra Misseer plane shifted all of them back to Troubridge. Here, on the eve of the 16th of Venusta, Dowlich Emberspell and Raeherd successfully brought Lumina Emberspell and Calliope back from the dead. The party long rested, safe for the evening.
