Previous: Session 093; Next: Session 095
Start: 4th of Flosculus, with Xan'alith'alan and Janzy Slipquill in Qir'ellan'alak, preparing to enter the Void through the Black Pit. For clearing Sanctumyr and their accomplishments in the Tower, the party leveled up to 15.
A 3rd Dennis was created using the Solithar Ring, and the party bought some items and materials for their upcoming expedition. Additionally, Nesdin cast Legend Lore several times on the following subjects:
- Infinite Scroll: AKA the Infinite Scroll. It is an artifact of Autori, and contains a full, unbiased history of most significant events through the Cabalum and the Cataclysm. Additionally, it has the ability to allow the user to recognize and replicate any spell they see cast.
- Solithar: The first wizard, directly imbued with the power of Autori, and was her first champion. He established the Solithar's Spire mountain and the compound on tap as his "wizard's tower", studying and creating magic independent of the Deities. He wrote and created many spells, and taught his apprentice Ronin. While Ronin was more outgoing and offered his earned knowledge to other wizards, Solithar was more reclusive, spending most of his life developing and expanding his own magical abilities and studies. It was rumored that he was on the cusp of a magical duel with his apprentice: he and Ronin were never seen after that, and the Far Soul was shattered and scattered.
- Far Soul: This orb was the culmination of Solithar's research into immortality. He used it to create the first Simulacrum and the first Clone. It was theorized that Solithar was close to harnessing the power of immortality before his disappearance. The pieces scattered, finding homes across the Planes, drawing magical researchers similar to Solithar (Morgo the Maleficent creating copies of others from amethyst crystals, Calindra exploring the Chaos Planes and exploring storm magic, Fictus Aborenzo's mentor expanded bard musical talents).
The gang rested, and set out for the Black Pit on the morning of the 5th of Flosculus. They jumped inside, and entered the Void. They landed inside Slorpor, the stone brick ruins swallowed by the Black Pit's emergence. They navigated the ruins, avoided any lurking demons, and entered some caves in the floor. Through there, they made their way into Clickit, encountering 6 large ant demons who attempted to defend their territory. The party annihilated those demons, and flew up and away before the rest of the hive could gather and strike back.
Up through tunnels in the ceiling, the party traveled to Howloo, and spotted the Shoggoth, the final portion of the Nexus Encephalon, was assaulting the Gnoll caverns, absorbing the hounds patrolling the outside while being beset by necrotic blasts from nearby Flind priests. They engaged, and a fight ensued. The leader, the Yeenoghu of the pack, leapt from their cave and mostly berrated the party from afar, while the pack of Shoosuva was wiped out by the party. The Goristro was eliminated, then the Shoggoth, and finally the Elder Brain was wiped out, while the Yeenoghu pack leader was trapped in Walls of Force to stop from further disrupting. Connecting with the last remnants of the Nexus Encephalon's mind, and saw that the last Dohwar was somewhere in an office in Valduumia.
Quickly Plane Shifting back to Waters Eend, Dohwar joined with their flock, and thanked the party for freeing them. In cleansing the pond and releasing them of their magical bonds, they offered the party first use of the now rejuvenated waters, with any entering able to make one wish come true.
End: 5th of Flosculus, midday, at Waters Eend with the 41 of 42 Dohwar deciding on how to use the wishing power of the pond.
