Hierarchy of Divinity

No matter who regards them, there is still a hierarchy of divinity as defined with Godhood.

Several gods in the pantheons of the world, are in fact, nothing more than differing names based upon the culture observing the deity. Their connecting names, terms, and such shall be listed in descending order, as follows.

In the beginning

Anu and Padomay are the entities regarded as the beginning of all and creators of all in the entirety of existence. They are said to be brothers that came into the void. They wandered the void, and their interplay of Light and Darkness brought about the existence of Nir. Both were amazed, delighted, and loved Nir. However, Nir only loved Anu and due to such, Padomay retreated from them in bitterness. Nir's love caused division and hostility between Anu and Padomay. In time, Nir gave birth to Creation, but died from injuries sustained due to Padomay's jealousy. Anu grieved, and hid himself in the sun and slept.

Creation had brought about 12 worlds. When Padomay returned and found this, he immediately hated all of it, and struck the 12 worlds, shattering them in their alignment. When Anu woke, and found what Padomay had done, they fought again. The long and furious battle ended with Anu as the victor. He cast aside the body of his brother and attempted to save Creation by forming the remnants of the 12 worlds into one; Nirn. Padomay struck back again, and this time, the fight between them took them beyond the realms of Time.

The blood of Padomay became the Daedra, while the blood of Anu became the stars. The mingled blood of both became the Aedra.

On Nirn, there were two groups of life that survived the shattering of the 12 worlds; The Ehlnofey and the Hist. However, it was not a simple thing.

The Ehlnofey were scattered into two groups; the Old Ehlnofey and the Wandering Ehlnofey. The Wandering Ehlnofey expected to be welcomed in with their kin, but the Old Ehlnofey looked on them as degenerates. In time, the Old Ehlnofey became the progenitors of the Mer, or Elves, while the Wandering Ehlnofey became Humans and Beastfolk. The Hist were bystanders, staying apart from the conflicts of the fracturing Ehlnofey.

At Time Indeterminate

Created by, and yet still a part of, Anu and Padomay, there arises Anui'el and Sithis.

Anui'el is regarded as the soul of Anu, and is also seen as Order, the Everlasting Ineffable Light, and is the dichotomic opposition to Sithis, who represents Chaos, and the Corrupting Inexpressible Action of Change.

When they came into being is a matter of debate, as so many other things from the Dawn Era are. However, millennia later, the Dunmer claim that the birth of Sithis was the start of creation, as the everlasting stasis of Anu meant that nothing could ever change. Thus, Sithis broke the nothing and created ideas that ebbed and flowed out of it. Anui'el, a demon in their eyes, came later and created the Aedra in order to counter him by building "everlasting, imperfect worlds". From there, it is then believed that Sithis begat Lorkhan.

Mortal, Yet God

Descending from Anui'el and Sithis, we come into the mortal span of life, in the world beyond the Dawn Era and into the Merethic or Mythic Era.

From Anui'el, it is said, comes the god Auri'el, the Elven god of time. In some circles, it is said that Auri'el and Akatosh are one and the same.

From Sithis, it is said, comes Lorkhan, the Betrayer.

If Auri'el and Akatosh are one and the same, then it stands that the other Divines are of the same heritage as Auri'el. As a whole, these individuals are also given the name et'Ada, which in old Ehlnofex, means Original Spirits. The term refers, to a grander scale, all Aedra, Daedra, and Magne Ge born of Anu and Padomay. Thus, in this category, we come to the majority of Divinity that the world observes.
