The Blacklake District is situated directly north of Castle Never and was inhabited by the nobility of Neverwinter, before The Ruining lead to the near complete destruction of the city in 1451 DR. Afterward, Blacklake became the main residential district for survivors who were outside of the city during the calamity and for refugees from far flung locations who came looking for new opportunities to settle. Many of the buildings in Blacklake weathered The Ruining with relatively little damage, owing to expensive magical reinforcements commissioned by the dead nobles who once called it home.
