Beldoran Pelegon was the second son of Sirdas I. Ostensibly due to his brother's misrule, Prince Beldoran declared himself Shahanshah Beldoran I Pelegon, initiating the Years of Blood and Iron. Since he did not hold the Imperial seat of Arcanopolis, his claim is not recognized by historians. Beldoran would later take his brother Abbos Pelegon as his chief advisor. Beldoran was killed in battle in V 191, shortly before his faction emerged victorious in the civil war. However, unsubstantiated rumors claim that he died from an arrow to the back of his neck. It is popularly believed, though unproven, that Abbos orchestrated Beldoran's death so that he could install the more easilly manipulated young Pelegon to the throne as opposed to his strong-willed father.
Though history does not remember him as one of the Shahanshahs, all three of his children eventually ascended the Golden Falcon Throne, causing him to sometimes be called the Father of Kings.
