Cecilia Scelza was the younger sister of Queen Liona I Scelza. She was married to Pelegon VI as part of the marriage pact which secured the allegiance of House Scelza during the Conquest of Neria.

Unlike her sister and husband, Cecilia was a modest, quiet, and peaceable woman. She doted on her eldest son, Sethon, due to his many ailments. After Sethon's murder by her daughter, she went mad with grief and was forced to remain consigned to a tower in the Golden Palace for the remainder of her life, which was thereafter called the Grieving Tower.
