Shouwèi Clan

The Shouwèi have a venerated history in Quyan. They specialize in Bladesinging, claiming a lineage to the very first Bladesinger, Shao Jianyu. Though descended from the origin point, the Shouwei did not practice shikar beyond the borders of their own territory. They were regarded as scholars rather than fighters, wielding the knowledge to forge the best bladesingers of Asuvia.

In The War of Five Planes, the western lands that the Shouwei resided in were razed in flame, uninhabitable as the land now named the Ashweld is locked in an unending burn. In evacuating their lands, and resisting the forces beyond, Shouwèi Yingjie and Shouwèi Zian proved themselves to be both fierce and honorable fighters. By the war's end, Yingjie was dead, but the merits of him and his brother were recognized. With the throne in Shanhou deserted, Zian was named the next Shikara. The realm was renamed the Adret Ward within Shanhou.

The Shouwèi also trains paladins and clerics. These are most often dedicated to Avaksha and Vaten.
