Volothamp, or Volo for short, is a legendary traveler and storyteller, known for writing a series of guide books for various places and creatures from throughout the multiverse.
In Waterdeep, Volo hired Team TRASH (pandas) to rescue his friend, Floon Blagmaar, who had been kidnapped by the Zhentarim. As a reward for saving him, as well as saving Renaer Neverember, Volo gave Team TRASH (pandas) a haunted house, which they cleared of ghosts and turned into a brothel called Purgatory.
Later, the party discovered Volo again in Barovia, outside Lumiere Du Jour. He told the party he was going to go to Castle Ravenloft to visit Strahd Von Zarovich, who he had already met many years ago. The party crossed paths with him again after escaping Fidatov Manor, where he was camping with Strahd's consorts, Anastraya, Volenta, Escher, and Ludmilla. After the party snuck away from the camp and rode for several hours on Sangzor, Strahd and the consorts caught up with them in their carriage, along with Volo. Everyone went to Whistling Ridge, where Volo parted ways, claiming he was headed to Nova Vaasa.
The party met him once more, at a lakeside restaurant outside of Silverymoon, where he had ordered a feast to celebrate their escape from the Dread Realms.
